1st Edge is seeking a skilled Data Analyst with geospatial experience to join our team. In this position, you will be instrumental in crafting datasets and software solutions for 1st Edge in support of our customers. Some tasks performed in this role are data acquisition, creation of datasets, compiling data statistics, and creating data solutions to support internal development teams.
This position is on-site at 1st Edge LLC, located in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Follow standards for analyzing, processing, and cataloguing geospatial data for AI applications
- Conduct data analysis and create products to support AI model development
- Improve and maintain existing data processing and analysis workflows and procedures
- Facilitate the incorporation of data, models, and software into customer lab environments
Essential skills:
- Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and geospatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoTIFF).
- Proficiency in Python 3.x, including libraries like NumPy, Pandas
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an office environment
- A willingness to learn
Desired skills:
- Experience with GDAL
- Experience with a cataloging system such as STAC
- Experience working with git and Visual Studio Code
General Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- US Citizenship required
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences, Data Analytics, Data Science, or similar
